Description
The Bad Boy of the Gulf in initial carrier operations on the Persian Gulf off the coast of Afganistan post 9-11. The F-14 Tomcat Fleet Defender, aside from TopGun fame, was simply the baddest bully of the fleet in anyone's Navy. Decommissioned in Sept 06, it was replaced by the F18 Super Hornet. I for one am sorry to see her go. It looked just plain mean parked on the flight deck. Imagine seeing it flying up your tailpipe at FL18.
